OUR VALUES & APPROACH
At Formation, we know that we can succeed as a business whilst looking after our staff, the environment and supporting our local community. We believe businesses can and should be a key driver in effecting positive change whether it be in relation to climate change, fair trade or working conditions. At Formation we place a great deal of emphasis on reducing our energy consumption, whilst recycling and considering ways in which we can improve our impact on the environment.
We are committed to providing a positive working environment for our employees. All staff have access to training and everyone has an individual development plan. We have a range of family friendly policies, including offering family leave time for employees with over one year's service. In the community, we have worked with a local comprehensive school to develop enterprise skills and staff volunteer on local public sector management boards.
We are delighted that our approach has resulted in:
- regaining Investors in People accreditation in 2009;
- becoming a finalist for the East Midlands Development Agency's High Growth award in 2009;
- being named 2008 regional winners for 'Excellence in People Development' by the British Chamber;
- becoming regional winners of the British Chamber of Commerce 'Green Award' in October 2007;
- winning an award for employee development from Nottinghamshire's BEST Business awards; and
- being awarded Age Positive Champion status by the Department for Work and Pensions.
